I have been a fitness instructor in West Kelowna for the past 9 years! I can't believe how the years have flown by! Initially, I took my fitness theory and aquafit courses while pregnant with my fourth. After being pregnant for 21 out of 26 consecutive months (ask me for the story) every move started to look the same (wide legs around tummy) and I had to take a forced break ...LOL ing here but it was more like crying at the time. In the end, I had my beautiful baby girl at 39 weeks and 200 maternal pounds. Thank God for fitness and forced activity. It was a bit of a road but that road, combined with being a very naturally NOT flexible yoga instructor, are the two things that have made me the compassionate and strong instructor that I am today.
A year later or so I did my yoga course and I have been teaching ever since! I love seeing people on their journeys, both in birth and in fitness. In a way, fitness often opens avenues for conversation, sharing, therapy that you would be surprised at (or maybe not). This is another reason I love it!
Aquafit -a 1 hour water aerobics class known to be gentle enough for pregnancy and easy on joints. Did you know that water is also known to improve circualtion and relieve vein pressure in pregnancy?
Aquayoga- a 45 minute class done in a warm water pool. You will feel lengthened, stretched and relaxed, even energized by the end of this class. This class can also be done on a lunch break if you work close to westbank. Pregnancy friendly!
Yoga- a 45 minute class that is gentle in nature, can cause a sweat and can also be modified. Talk to me!
